Climate Action and Fossil Fuel Divestment

Our March 1 annual forum, “Divestment or What?” was the first interfaith forum of its kind to engage Canada’s faith sector in a discussion of our moral obligations to help shape a clean energy future.

In the next several months, Faith & the Common Good will establish a Canadian Interfaith Divestment Network to keep the conversations going. In the interim, we would like to share some video clips from the divestment discussions at our annual forum and links to more information and media about this emerging and important issue.

Read an excellent article about the event by Joe Gunn of Citizens for Public Justice.

Fletcher Harper of GreenFaith (USA) explores the rationale for faith-based divestment with a focus on historical roots for contemporary action at the 6th Annual Green Awakening Network/Greening Sacred Spaces forum on March 1 2014. With an introduction by the Hon. David MacDonald.
