St Andrew Memorial in London has achieved Medium Green Certification. They say: “The centrepiece of our greening efforts lies with the St Andrew Memorial Community Garden.
The garden project helps area residents grow their own food and promotes healthy lifestyles and healthy communities by:
- Lowering the Carbon Footprint of the gardeners
- Connecting people with the environment and each other
- Reduces exposure to pesticides through food
- Promoting physical activity
The garden has begun to be encircled by fruit trees and a pollination garden has been installed this year.
This past year saw over 300 lbs of fresh organic produce delivered to the Fellowship Centre, the Anglican Soup Kitchen in London, Ontario!”
Congratulations to St Andrew Memorial on their leadership!
